It is raining outside. I am wearing one of my favorite dresses. I am listening to Louis Armstrong on vinyl (I love the crackle of a record. My bf found me two Louis Armstrong records and Blueberry Hill - fats domino in a thrift shop last weekend.).Inspired by the model in the Juliette Hogan lookbooks I have started taking to wearing my hair in a top knot and wearing floaty dresses. It makes me feel like a ballerina. This has coincidently led me to thinking about taking adult ballet classes. I have always wanted to. But looking like a ballerina is rather different to actually mastering the dance.
In other news, I went to one of my old friend's weddings last weekend and it was such a wonderful weekend. I wore the Alice Edwards ball dress I posted about just after my birthday and curled my hair and wore red lipstick. I love any occasion to dress up. It was supposed to be outside but sadly the rain forced everyone inside (this New Zealand summer is the worst I have encountered). In the end, it really didn't matter. It was a lovely personal ceremony.
I hope you are all having a relaxing weekend. I am about to have a coffee, watch an old episode of Project Runway and then do some new listings on trade me.

ReplyDeleteI love a top knot. I remember I was wearing one once as I travelled on a bus through the Haight Ashbury district in San Fran and this little girl pointed to me and said to her Dad "that lady is a ballerina." So cute.
